Why PADI Open Water? As a certified PADI Open Water Diver, you will be able to dive with a buddy, independent of a PADI professional. If you already tried a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience or are PADI Scuba Diver certified,then these may count towards your Open Water qualification.
What do I need to start? Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can learn to dive and earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. You must be older than the age of 12 to begin the PADI Open Water Diver program. For children younger than 12 please see our Children's Diving section.
What will I do? Throughout the PADI Open Water course you will learn simple theory of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You earn your Open Water certification by completing five pool dives and knowledge development sessions in Stockport,Sheffield or Chesterfield and by making four open water (ocean or lake) dives.
How long will it take? Aquatic Adventures has Open Water courses starting regularly in Stockport, Sheffield and Chesterfield and these usually take three weeks to complete. If needed you can finish your course quicker however PADI courses are performance based meaning you are able to progress at a pace suitable for you.
